ICWUC Was Well Represented at the 2023 UFCW Convention!

The 9th UFCW International Convention was held April 24, 2023 – April 28, 2023, in Las Vegas, NV. During the Convention Marc Perrone was reelected as UFCW President. In addition to normal convention business of electing the leaders of the UFCW for the next 5 years, passing Constitutional Amendments and Resolutions, there were many valuable Delegate Education Workshops including:

  • Disinformation and its Threat to Our Democracy
  • Enhance Member Servicing
  • Demonstrating Union Value and Member Education
  • Members on the Move
  • How Different Generations Communicate
  • Active Assailant in the Workplace: Preparedness
  • Women’s Issues are Workers Issues: Engage! Organize! Mobilize!
  • Building Power for Immigrant Workers
  • Cannabis: our Path to Equitable Justice
  • Creating an LGBTQ+ Affirming Union Builds Worker Power
  • Connecting Labor and Social Justice Movements
  • Creating Safe and Violence Free Workplaces

 

ICWUC President Lance E. Heasley had this to say,

“I want to thank everyone that attended the UFCW Convention! We more than doubled our delegates in attendance from the 2018 UFCW Convention. I hope all our delegation took something of value back to their locals from this experience!”
